It works on vector PDFs, the kind exported from CAD and design software, where the lines and curves are real geometry. A scanned or photographed PDF is just a picture and has no geometry to convert. Curves are flattened to fine segments and the drawing is scaled from PDF points to millimetres.

Common questions
Can I convert a PDF to DXF?
Yes, when the PDF is a vector drawing. If nothing appears after loading, the PDF is most likely a scan or an image, which has no vector geometry to convert.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The PDF is read on your own device and is never sent anywhere.
What about the size and scale?
The drawing is scaled from PDF points to millimetres. Always confirm the overall size in the viewer before cutting, as some PDFs are exported at a reduced scale.
