Sheet Size

The sheet is the piece of material you are cutting from. Setting its size correctly matters, because it is the boundary the nester packs your parts into.

Setting the width and height

Open Dock > Sheet settings . A sheet is described by its width and height; enter the dimensions of your real material so the layout matches what you will cut.

NestMaxx opens with a sheet of 3000 x 1500 mm. Change it whenever your stock is a different size.

If you would rather work in inches than millimetres, switch units first in Preferences. The sheet size, spacing and part dimensions all follow the unit you choose.

Changing the size later

You can change the sheet size at any time, even after nesting. The layout does not update on its own when you do, so run the nest again to repack your parts into the new size. See Running a Nest.

The origin

As well as its size, a sheet has an origin: the reference point everything is measured from. This matters when you take the layout to a machine. Setting the origin is covered separately in Material Origin.
